What sets us apart
The case for
careful work.
There are many places to take a watch for repair. We'd like to explain what we do differently — not to persuade, but to help you decide if we're the right fit.

Why clients choose us
15+ Years of Experience
Our workshop has been operating in Bangsar since 2009. The experience accumulated over that time means we recognise quickly what a watch needs and what to leave alone.
Nothing Without Your Approval
We assess, report, and wait. Repair work only begins after you've reviewed our findings and agreed to proceed. No surprises on the bill.
Honest Condition Reports
Especially for vintage pieces, we provide a written assessment in plain language. If a watch doesn't need repair, we'll say so.
Proper Pressure Testing
Water resistance work is verified with calibrated equipment before and after resealing — not estimated or assumed based on visual inspection alone.
Respect for Age and Patina
We don't polish or refinish unless asked. Older watches that show their age honestly are treated as such — their character is preserved, not erased.
Specification-Matched Parts
Replacement parts are sourced to fit your watch's original specifications. Where compatible factory-spec components are available, we use them.
Professional Expertise
Watchmaking is a trade that takes years to develop properly. Rajan, who leads our technical work, trained formally in movement repair and has been working with quartz and mechanical timepieces for over two decades. Suraya's specialisation in vintage assessment means that older pieces receive analysis informed by deep familiarity with mid-century calibers.
Experience shows not just in what gets repaired, but in what gets left alone — knowing when a watch is fine as it is, or when a recommended service would cause more disruption than benefit.
- Over 2,400 timepieces handled since opening
- Specialist knowledge across quartz and mechanical systems
- Vintage calibre identification and condition grading
- Assessment-first approach for all unfamiliar pieces
- Calibrated pressure testing before and after resealing
- Timing accuracy checked post-movement installation
- Dial alignment and hand positioning verified
- Each piece logged and tracked through the workshop
Process & Technology
The tools and procedures we use are appropriate to each type of service. Water resistance work uses pressure testing equipment rather than visual guesswork. Movement installations include timing accuracy checks. Nothing is assumed to be correct without being verified.
Our process is also documented — every watch is logged when it arrives, and its progress through the workshop is tracked until collection.
Customer Service
We communicate clearly, and we communicate before we act. For vintage assessments, you receive a written report outlining our findings and what we recommend. For any service, if something unexpected comes up during the work, we stop and contact you before continuing.
Our workshop is in Bangsar, and you're welcome to call or visit to discuss your watch in person. We don't have a call centre — when you reach us, you speak with someone who actually works on the watches.
- Written condition reports for vintage assessments
- Direct contact with the workshop team, not a call centre
- Scope changes communicated before proceeding
- Walk-in visits welcome during workshop hours
How we compare
Typical providers vs. our approach
A straightforward look at where the difference lies. No exaggeration — just what we actually do differently.
Typical repair shops
- Work begins without a written assessment
- Water resistance "tested" visually or not at all
- Vintage pieces polished regardless of preference
- Generic replacement parts used for convenience
- Scope changes added to the bill without notice
- Communication through a front counter, not the repairer
Cogsworth & Dial
- Assessment and written report before any work
- Calibrated pressure testing equipment, before and after
- Patina preserved unless removal is specifically requested
- Manufacturer-spec compatible parts sourced where available
- No additional charges without your prior agreement
- Direct contact with the workshop team at all times
What makes us different
Distinctive aspects of our service
Written condition reports as standard
For vintage and inherited pieces, we provide a formal written document describing what we found — movement condition, case wear, dial state, and our assessment of what would benefit from attention. This isn't common practice at most repair shops.
We work at the pace the watch needs
Vintage servicing isn't rushed. If a movement needs to be observed over multiple days to assess its accuracy, we take that time. Speed is not what clients come to us for.
We'll tell you if it doesn't need repair
If you bring in a watch that is running correctly and needs nothing, we'll say so and return it to you. We're not structured around finding reasons to charge for work.
A physical workshop you can visit
We're based in Bangsar, and you're welcome to drop in. Many clients find it helpful to describe what they've noticed about their watch in person. Walk-ins are welcome within workshop hours.
